Eric Stuart Band
Blue, Dressed In Black

Eric Stuart has been kicking around the songwriter music circles for nearly a decade and his honest blue collar working man's approach to Rock & Roll is a welcomed release. The twelve songs on Blue, Dressed In Black are radio friendly and meander somewhere between Bad Company, Counting Crows, and Hootie & The Blowfish. Four songs on the album are from the quartet's self-titled EP, which was produced by Peter Frampton. Lost Innocence is the stand out track of this material and showcases some fine guitar and slide work from Mr. Frampton. Mr. Stuart's strong sense of melody and songwriting skills is at their best on the country waltz, Home, an anthem about the strength of faith and love in a relationship. The performances on the album are precise and the band really shines on songs like Raise A Little Hell, Staring You In The Face, and Blue Dressed In Black. Mr. Stuart cites some of his influences as: Bruce Springsteen, Cat Stevens, and Buddy Holly. He has managed to pick up their spark and keep it burning strong.
